Papergirl

Synopsis

 En route to a party, a lonely traveler discovers their skin is turning to paper. The more they try to blend in, the more they fall apart, until gender dysphoria and gender euphoria clash in a mess of spilled ink, split skin and torn paper. Shot on 16mm on the streets of New York City, Papergirl explores alienation and transness through the lens of body horror. Synopsis

Produced by Major Anxiety Pictures, "They say--trees" is a visual adaption of a poem by Audrey Gidman, a queer poet based Maine. Inspired by Terrence Malick's The Thin Red Line (1999), and The Tree of Life (2011), "They say--trees" explores intuition and growth with a tender yet exuberant voice.

Synopsis

Based off of the famous quote of the philosopher St. Augustine, "solvitur ambulando" (meaning "it is solved by walking), "solvitur tondendo"  means "it is solved by shaving." "solvitur tondendo" affirms that we all have the inner strength to take a leap into the unknown. It has screened at Chicago Made Shorts, an Instagram platform dedicated to showcasing films of up-and-coming Chicago filmmakers, the Seattle Queer Film Festival 2021 and the Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival  (MSPIFF) 2022. It also screened at the Minneapolis Institute of Art 2023 Pride Month Family Day alongside some other of the best short films from MSPIFF that celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community.

A boy changes up his look to pursue a crush. I acted and assistant directed this film alongside an international cast and crew while attending the Seoul International Youth Film Festival in 2015 as a Youth Juror.
